Graham Clarke joined the Frome Collegians football Club in 1973 and was the manager of the most successful youth team in the history of the club – winning 17 honours in 6 years including the Somerset Youth Shield and the Southampton FC International Trophy. He was a playing member and captain of the Somerset Police Team for many years and was awarded the Queens Police Medal in her Majesty’s Birthday Honours in 1991.
He is the manager of the Somerset FA and Somerset Schools Under 18 football teams and took the schools to the national under 19 championships in 2002 and runners up in 2004. During his time as manager 14 of his players have gained international recognition with England. In 2011 he was appointed President of the SW of England Schools Football Association and a member of the Somerset FA Council.
In 1990 he began a long quest to find a ground for the club. This came to fruition in 2010 when a pitch was constructed on the former Show field. As a result of these efforts he was given the Frome Civic Award by the Frome Town Council and in 2011 was presented with the FA award for “Outstanding Service to the Community”.
He is proud of the achievements of the club and grateful to the many volunteers who work so hard with the young players.
